Courses for Aspiring and Established Literary Translators: Register Now!

Intralingo is pleased to announce two new and three completely updated premium courses for aspiring and established literary translators. All courses are conducted online, in small groups (except for First Steps in Literary Translation, which is entirely self-directed).

First Steps in Literary Translation is for translators who aspire to make literary translation work part of their career. We look at the industry today and what it takes on a personal and professional level to succeed. (Everyone who takes this $50 course is entitled to a $50 coupon toward any other Intralingo course – making this one virtually free!) Course starts the minute you enroll.

Lessons in the Art of Literary Translation: Spanish Literature (ES>EN) is for professional translators who work from Spanish into English and would like to improve their translation skills. We will learn from some of the greats, analyzing and comparing multiple published translations of four well-known Spanish literary texts. Next session begins September 8, 2015.

Editor-Proof Your Translation is for professional translators who work into English and would like to polish an already-translated work in progress (WIP).The book Editor-Proof Your Writing will be our foundation, but viewed through the lens of translation. We will fix certain common writing foibles throughout the five weeks, and the instructor will provide a full edit to ensure that your text is ready to submit to an agent, author and/or editor. Next session begins September 8, 2015.

Next Steps in Literary Translation is for translators who are ready to make literary work part of their career. We will look at how and where to find works to translate, get them published and be compensated for your work. Next session begins October 20, 2015.

Defining Writing Style is for translators who want to understand the style in which an original work was written and capture that style in translation. Next session begins October 20, 2015.
