Call for student submissions: Alchemy

Alchemy, a new journal of translation out of the UCSD Literature Department, is now accepting student submissions for its first issue. We are looking for work that engages translation in both traditional and innovative ways. Students may submit works of poetry or short fiction/non-fiction.

We are also looking for those interested in visual arts and graphic design to submit cover art for issue one.

To submit, you must currently be a student, so please include the name of the school or institution of higher learning you attend as well as your program of study (if applicable). Please include originals with your translations and limit submission to five pages of poetry or ten pages of prose.

Send all submissions to: with the heading being Poetry Submission, Fiction Submission, Non-Fiction Submission or Cover Art Submission. Submissions received by December 5, 2011 will receive priority for the first issue and any submissions thereafter will be accepted on a rolling basis.
