Call for Papers: Translation and Prejudice

Translation and Prejudice Conference

All undergraduate, graduate and PhD students are invited to present papers at the Translation and Prejudice Conference organized by Open Boat Students’ Society, University of Łódz, Poland. The conference is interested in the issues of literary translation. Topics might include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  • British, American and Polish literature (poetry, prose, drama) in translation
  • Transference of cultural references
  • Intertextuality in translation
  • Stylization in translation
  • Comparative analysis
  • Intercultural translation
  • Politically corrected translations
  • Untranslatability

Submissions: Please, submit a 100-word abstract for a 20-minute presentation and a registration form to openboat@tlen.pl by 1st April 2011. We welcome papers in English and Polish. Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
